In Punjab, this veteran in the fray
Veterans are also in the fray in several seats in Punjab. Prakash Singh Badal, a five-time CM of Punjab, is contesting for the 6th time from Lambi. Former CM Captain Amarinder Singh is in the fray from Patiala. CM Charanjit Channi is contesting from Bhadaur seat besides Chamkaur Sahib. Navjot Sidhu is in the fray from Amritsar East and Aam Aadmi Party's CM face Bhagwant Mann Dhuri.
The most interesting seat amritsar east
The most interesting seat in Punjab is Amritsar East. From where veteran Akali leader Vikram Majithia is in the fray against Punjab Congress Chief Navjot Sidhu. Sidhu had challenged Majithia to fight against him. This was accepted by Majithia. After this, Sidhu again challenged that he should leave the Majitha seat and contest only from Amritsar East. Majithia fielded his wife Guniv Kaur from Majitha and announced to contest only from Amritsar East. Captain Amarinder Singh is also claiming to have defeated Sidhu from here.
First-time 5-way match
For the first time in Punjab, a 5-sided contest is taking place. Apart from the Congress, Akali Dal-BSP alliance, Aam Aadmi Party, BJP, Captain and Shiad Samyukta, farmers are also in the fray by forming a United Samaj Morcha. For this reason, no party has been given a majority in the recent opinion polls. Due to this, the election results of Punjab may be a fool this time.
